Real Moms and Mother's Day
Posted on May 09 2015
Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying our blog posts, and enjoying This Little Piggy's celebration of Mother's Day. We are so thrilled to be highlighting every day ladies doing good in the world, as they nurture and raise tiny beings of their own. We are celebrating the small things, the day to day, and the work that is unnoticed. A mother job is never done, but that doesn't stop us from being the best that we can each day.
Our next mother is no exception. She is a very special mom, as this is her first Mother's Day! Please welcome Sarah Downes, a wonderful friend, teacher, sister, and now mother. Sarah has worked tirelessly with her students for many years, and has been part of and volunteered for every good deed or event you can imagine. She volunteers for the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope every September, and is always there for a friend in need. This April a little monkey arrived, and it feels like the world is finally right. Sarah is a mom, she is tired but loving her new role and when I asked her what she wanted for Mother's Day, this was her response:
"I am hoping Kyle will let me sleep a couple hours Saturday night. That is always a treat. Then we will wake up and have a nice easy day, as we are going to my moms for Mother's Day dinner. I don't really need anything more. I have everything I want this year and more".
Sarah was just proposed to under High Park Cherry Blossoms this week, so yes Sarah I can say, this Mother's Day you do have everything you want this year. What a year it has been!
Have a wonderful and sweet Sunday Sarah. xo
