Family friendly World Pride events
Posted on June 21 2014
Is anyone else super excited that World Pride is happening right here in Toronto? We certainly are. The festivities kicked off last night at City Hall and it's a full week of awesome events celebrating diversity, acceptance and love. I"m not sure of a better way to teach kids about inclusiveness than Pride events, so I've scoured for some of the best family friendly events over the next week. See you there?
Sunday, June 22
Distillery District Pride Market
Do a little shopping while listening to music. Farmer's markets are some of the best kid-friendly spaces with lots to see, do and eat. This Sunday's market is Pride themed and has performances by Kristine Schmidt and The Powers That Be.
Around the World in 80 Paws
This is another free event at Allen Gardens (starts at noon) where dogs strut their stuff in international costumes for prizes. How can this be not the best?
Tuesday, June 23
Play at the Parks with Pride Weekdays at noon, Tuesday through Friday
Every day at noon, join a different emerging artist as they play a free concert at Trinity Square!
Friday, June 27
Family Pride at the Movies
Head to the Carlton Cinemas to check out The Lego Movie at 7pm!
Saturday June 28 and Sunday, June 29
A festival for littles with face painting, snacks, games and more! Saturday and Sunday at Church St. Public School
Sunday, June 29
Who doesn't love a parade? Especially a parade with dancing, music, and more? Pride is one of my favourite events each summer and it really is the best festival downtown.
Will we see you at Pride?
